V- Chicken, Silly Puddy, And Anti-Foaming Agents- Mmmmmm Yum.
Ever wondered what a chicken McNugget is really made of? Well, it certainly isn’t clean, all white meat chicken.
I really don’t understand how people can eat this type of fast food. Even as I child, I recall being grossed out when biting into a McNugget. I remember the texture was rubbery, and gummy-like. And it didn’t really taste like chicken to me.
There are so many children in the world that have become accustomed to eating this type of food as balanced meals, and it is nothing short of awful. It should be against the law, as far as I am concerned. Besides the terrible cruelty that the chicken endures to eventually become a McNugget, the food is not even real food, by my definition. It is highly processed crap. With little to zero nutritional value.
Let’s use McDonalds McNuggets as an example. Here of the ingredients, listed on their website, for Chicken McNuggets:
Ingredients: White Boneless Chicken, Water, Food Starch-Modified, Salt, Seasoning (Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Salt, Wheat Starch, Natural Flavoring [Botanical
Source], Safflower Oil, Dextrose, Citric Acid), Sodium Phosphates, Natural Flavor (Botanical Source). Prepared in Vegetable Oil (Canola Oil, Corn Oil, Soybean Oil, Hydrogenated Soybean Oil with TBHQ and Citric Acid added to preserve freshness).
Dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent.Prepared in vegetable oil (Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness). Dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent.
Let’s just talk about the following 3 ingredients, for now:
- “hydrogenated soybean oil with TBHQ and
- citric acid added to preserve freshness” and
- “Dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent.
At least two of these ingredients are artificially synthesized industrial chemicals. TBHQ, a petroleum derivative, is used as a stabilizer in perfumes, resins, varnishes and oil field chemicals. Laboratory studies have linked it to stomach tumors. “At higher doses, it has negative health effects on lab animals, such as producing precursors to stomach tumors and damage to DNA. A number of studies have shown that prolonged exposure to high doses of TBHQ may be carcinogenic, especially for stomach tumors.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TBHQ)
Dimethylpolysiloxane, a type of silicone, is used in caulks and sealants, as a filler for breast implants, and as key ingredient in Silly Putty. According to Wikipedia, “PDMS is also used as a component in silicone grease and other silicone based lubricants, as well as in defoaming agents, mold release agents, damping fluids, heat transfer fluids, polishes, cosmetics, hair conditioners and other applications. PDMS has also been used as a filler fluid in breast implants, although this practice has decreased somewhat, due to safety concerns. PDMS is used variously in the cosmetic and consumer product industry as well. For example, PDMS can be used in the treatment of head lice…”
I am not going to even get into the other ingredients listed above, which are not much better for you. Let’s just let you sit with the 3 discussed here, for now.
Oh but wait…what about the actual chicken tin the nuggets. The chicken in nuggets come from factory farms where the animals are treated with hormones and vaccines. They are fed feed that is treated with pharmaceuticals and generally grown with pesticides. Not to mention, the animals on these factory farms live in filthy, inhumane, terribly cruel conditions.
Why would anyone want to put this crap in their bodies?
